Wouldn't have thought he'd be the one to throw himself on the phoenix's mercy. Takes a special flavour of idiocy to leap that direction. Harkiss, for instance. And Shaughnessy. (Though in those cases, they could equally well have fallen in a sinkhole or taken a wrong step off Cheddar Gorge. With or without a bit of help from a colleague. If they've actually gone over, I wish the phoenix well with them.)

I've made a thorough search of Apsley House and saw nothing to suggest he ran.

Maybe Rod's got something to help get a reading on what he was doing last time he was there or in his office at Bham? We had a conversation once about how useful it would be if he'd got an instrument that could detect whether something's been taken from a room that wouldn't be obvious to a search. Feel as if he'd have said if he'd developed such a thing, though.
