News of what happened at the castle has reached my ears. It never fails to satisfy--word that yet another traitor to Our Lord's cause has been so righteously put to death. I only regret that I wasn't able to see the spectacle with my own eyes.

Harry is a matter of great concern. It is evident that he has been colluding with seditious persons for some time.

Hydra is also a matter of great concern. She has now been associated with not just two, but three (Draco, Harry, the Greengrass woman) known and verified traitors to the Lord's cause. Occlusion is not so easy a trick as the tales would have you believe. She is either deliberately slacking in her duties or, more likely, she too is in collusion with a seditious faction.

I have not yet reported to Our Lord with my suspicions as He prefers to come to his own conclusions on these matters.

However, if Hydra's nature can be made more evident, then He will come to that conclusion more quickly.

Back to Harry. It's doubtful he should make an appearance at the castle again, barring special circumstance. But I must stress that if he is found, he must be delivered to the Lord Protector in perfect condition.

I don't know if this report made it to you, but we found a location outside of Hogsmeade that's been placed under Fidelius charm. I suspect that's where Harry's holed up.

My understanding is that Our Lord is directing our efforts to finding Harry, and not uncovering additional traitors at this time. Though certainly given that Harry, Draco, and Daphne are all established traitors -- well, I'm not sure exactly how Harry is being classified at present, but he's certainly not understood to be loyal -- I think the entire seventh year should be interviewed by you and Penderyn, with use of additional measures on anyone who appears to be occluding. That can wait, however. They're not going anywhere.

It is of course Our Lord's prerogative to act immediately, but I am disappointed that we were deprived of the opportunity to see what the Greengrass girl might know.

Presumably it was very little. But it's dismaying not to be able to establish that for ourselves.

I've asked the castle to keep me closely apprised of anyone entering or leaving, and the portraits are on watch. I'll let you know if there is any movement, although I agree that it's unlikely he's planning on returning. Word's been put out in the papers that anyone spotting Mr Marvolo should call it in, however -- I only hope that the team answering those calls are not inundated with false sightings.

The searchers haven't found anything of use in Daphne's things. I believe the current plan is to begin searching everyone's, starting with the seventh-years and working downward. We should be getting those searches going shortly, as soon as the afternoon shift change is complete.

Naturally they've been overwhelmed with reported sightings. At Bath. At Blackpool. In the Palm house at Kew. Etc.

On my way to Godric's Hollow at present, re. sighting of shabbily dressed young wizard with unkempt dark hair and eyeglasses. Expect to be met by an old witch with a headscarf wanting a bit of excitement, but can't neglect this one given the location.

I expect he's gone to ground; he is not stupid and he's seen manhunts of this calibre before. I am keeping a careful eye on his friends, however. It might be time in a day or two to appear to lift some of the restrictions on owl post to see if he attempts to make contact.

Have been with Our Lord at Buckingham, searching the boy's belongings left behind there and all parts of the palace in which he might have hidden anything that could indicate connections to outside groups or influences.

Nothing of note, you'll be unsurprised to hear. Was a necessary exercise, in any case.
